ALP Sittingbourne – Curriculum Framework

ALP Sittingbourne is an Independent Special Needs School catering for students aged between 7 and 19. Our school is Ofsted registered and caters for 40 young people who had difficulties having their needs met in mainstream education.

Our unique selling point is that we offer small classes or 1:1 learning where the curriculum is tailored to the needs of the individual. We also recognise the importance of building routines, relationships, respect and trust in order to achieve successful teaching and learning.

Our school presents unique opportunities for young people to primary and secondary/post 16 have their own designated space. However, all are able to access the school’s facilities which includes two outside courtyard areas, a large shared kitchen, a sensory room, a large sports hall and our outside provision – The Lodge (offering outside learning and animal care, D of E and Forest School). On top of the highly experienced teaching staff, the school benefits from a range of professionals on its staff team including a Careers officer, Speech and Language therapist, a Reading Doctor Teacher and a qualified SENco.

ALP Sittingbourne ensures that all learners work towards at least a Foundation Learning Curriculum. This ensures that each individualised timetable includes a minimum of core skills in English, Maths and ICT.
